No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title. In order to avoid the issue, you can use a glitch to walk through walls and at least reach the main game. Due to this, the tutorial mission is nearly unplayable, as you're forced to stand on physics objects which trigger the bug. As such, the game will crash with NaN issues that wouldn't cause an issue on console. This game uses a Custom Floating Point Exception Handler, which Dolphin does not support setting up.

In-engine cutscenes have a high-pitched sound (at around 6320 Hz). If this occurs, restart the game to make the problem go away. There is a chance that the directional controls won't work properly in the main menu. For example, they will show an animation to sit in one chair and then appear in another. In indoor areas, NPCs will constantly flicker and zip around, especially in tight spaces. Patches of grass and other textures are completely missing, allowing you to see through the ground in points of Central Park. When walking into any corner, you may get thrown out of bounds. This is also normal and happens on console. You may also sink into the ground on other parts of the highway. Turning your car or camera can result in wild collision detection issues and you can even get thrown out of bounds. When driving Northbound on the State Highway, the highway will jitter and eventually sync far below the actual collision detection of the road. If you call a Taxi during the Intro mission, the game will softlock. Specular lighting effects when indoors will also flicker similarly. By increasing the emulated CPU clock, you can make the game more demanding but increase the framerate to the point of actually making driving reasonable.ĭecals, shadows, textures and more flicker in this game. This can make driving extremely difficult, as at lower framerates the game will ignore or delay inputs. This game's framerate is erratic and extremely inconsistent, even on console. Due to other issues with the game, it is unknown if Dolphin behaves more like a GameCube or Wii with this issue. This game randomly hangs when entering interiors, especially when played on Nintendo Wiis. This issue has been reproduced on console and is not an issue with Dolphin. Near Old Broadway and 125th street, the game has a very high chance of locking up.

This is correct emulation and happens on console. When completing 'Bomb Disposal' side missions, the game will have severe audio issues and a loud stutter. Using the widescreen hack with this title is not recommended.

True Crime: New York City has a native 16:9 display option, but it requires enabling it in its internal options and setting Dolphin's Aspect Ratio graphics setting to 'Force 16:9'.
